In recent years, the use of AI in appearance inspection systems has advanced, making it possible to automate complex discrimination and recognition compared to traditional methods. On the other hand, the introduction of AI requires a learning process for the AI model, which necessitates the collection of vast amounts of real image data, presenting a significant barrier to implementation. In particular, collecting images of defective products takes many days, and we have received numerous voices from the field indicating that it is difficult to train the model on defects that have not yet occurred. At our company, leveraging our long-standing experience in 3D design, we can create 3DCG models that serve as alternatives to the learning data for AI models. If product photos for catalogs and websites are taken from actual products, and painting or silk printing is done only after the prototypes, which are in the same condition as mass-produced items, are completed, the product photography may end up occurring in the final stages of the development period. This can delay public relations activities and order-taking efforts before the product launch. At our company, we create product photos through rendering based on CAD and 3D data from the product development stage, reproducing the same painting and silk printing as the expected finished product. This allows us to obtain product photos early without waiting for the completion of prototypes with finished painting and silk printing, enabling the early start of public relations and sales activities. Additionally, leveraging the unique characteristics of CG, it is easy to create CG images from various angles. Furthermore, our services can be utilized not only for promotional photos but also for considerations regarding painting and silk printing during the development stage. Depending on the costs incurred for photography, our current customers using this service have reported that they were able to reduce expenses compared to when they were photographing actual products.
